First Home and Mixed Feelings....

My husband and I are building our first home...YAY!!!
We finalized the contract etc in January, 2013 and made our selections (cabinets, floor, brick, elevation, options. electrical etc etc etc) in about 2-3 weeks and then there was a looooong wait. But finally the construction is going to start pretty soon....We are scheduled to meet our PM (pre construction meeting) in two days. They said they might start construction towards the end of this week and we'll hopefully be closing in August.

This whole new home thing is exciting and stressful at the same time. I turn to internet for pretty much everything.... So when we were looking at houses and debating between different builders, I found so many negative reviews of Ryan homes, that I wasn't very sure about them......But we liked the location and plan so much. My husband wanted to go with it. But then I also read lot of blogs from Ryan Home Owners. Also we have a good sales rep....I did mention the negative reviews to him and he admitted that there were some negative reviews but he talked about their achievements and recommendations etc...which did put me at ease a little bit. So anyways, we decided to go for it.

After 2 months of no action, now we are getting very excited to get the process started, So I turned to internet again to figure out what a Pre Construction Meeting is? And What are we suppose to do?! I know...dumb! I know nothing at all about the whole construction process.

When I goggled pre construction meeting, I found quiet a few posts from the bloggers out there, I learned few things from their experiences. I just hope we get a good PM. Then I thought maybe I should document our experience too...and that's how this blog started. I'm good at reading, not so much at writing, I never blogged before, so we'll see how this goes.... :-)
