Updates....

Loan Update:

Our NVR LO has been in contact with my husband since last Friday. They sent an Good Faith Estimate and Cost Analysis. Somehow I feel that their closing costs are climbing very time they contact us. And of course, they mentioned that the cash required for closing is subjected to change. So I shouldn't be surprised I guess!
Anyway, today they came back and asked for some more documentation that will be reviewed by underwriting. They also mentioned that they may ask for additional information and/or documentation after the review. Well, I decided to leave that part to my husband....Its not very exciting.....I can't take pictures, so I'll stick to the construction zone!! ;-)

Framing update: Nothing! :-(

They did not start it yet.... I drove by the home site around lunch time today and there's no activity! My hubby says I turning into an obsessive homeowner (to-be) and I should leave our home site alone! But I just can't help it :-|

  1. Our GFE and loan packet from NVR was so confusing to read! It took me pouring over every page for an entire evening to figure out all the line items, how they were calculated, and what we could expect with the increased price (due to subsequent options after our meeting with the LO).

Also, I think it's the opposite for me and my wife. I'm always looking for an excuse to stop by the neighborhood.

  4. Hi! Check out my blog posts on our NVR Loan process! We actually got some GFE's from outside lenders. Sent them to NVR because they were much better deals closing/rate wise. Our Loan Processor has been very kind in working with us and has practically matched the rates. They waived the origination fee to compare. The only thing we are having issues with are the rates. Which they are working to see if they can match what our lender locked us at 75 days out. They really want you to enjoy your experience and give them the chance. So ALWAYS do the extra homework if you have the chance :) GOOD LUCK!

  5. I priced out multiple attorney's for closing and they all came in around the same as one another (I found it interesting how they each had their own costs that others did not). We ultimately chose to go with NVR because I felt the process would go smoother than didn't feel like the offset in savings in closing costs was worth the chance of something not going right (since they have it down like clockwork). NVR told me what was on the sheet provided to me would be on the high end so that I wouldn't expect any surprises when it came to actual closing. They said if anything my costs will be lower.

Anyways, I'm glad I did my research though and felt more comfortable with my decision. Good luck!
